Want to get started on YouTube but have no idea how? I break down some of my favourite tips and tricks in this blog post, with three of my videos on the topic to help you on you way.
The first video in this series is called HOW TO: Get started on YouTube 🚀🎥 | Advice for making your FIRST Youtube video
I cover the tools I think are super helpful to use when getting started with YouTube. You can find them below too:
Wikipedia describes Google trends as "a website by Google that analyzes the popularity of top search queries in Google Search across various regions and languages. The website uses graphs to compare the search volume of different queries over time."
2. TubeBuddy
TubeBuddy is a browser extension & mobile app which integrates directly into YouTube to help you run your channel with ease. It is free but has a premium option.
3. Green Screens (iMovie) / Aesthetic Packs
4. Fiverr
5. Screen Recording (QuickTime Player/iPhone/A-Z Recorder)
6. Canva (for thumbnails & channel art)
7. Quora (for promoting your channel)
8. YT Studio App (for monitoring your analytics)
I only discovered this app long after starting on YouTube and have found it SO helpful since downloading it. The Play Store explains the app makes it "faster and easier to manage your YouTube channels on the go. Check out your latest stats, respond to comments, upload custom video thumbnail images, schedule videos, and get notifications so you can stay connected and productive from anywhere."
9. Channels
These channels best explain YouTube Monetization (The Content Bug & Shelby Church)
My next video focuses on how to overcome common challenges when it comes to the YouTube platform - such as not having equipment or being fearful of what others may say. HOW TO: Start Your YouTube Channel ✨ 💕 | No fancy equipment & facing your fears
This video is for you if you feel completely overwhelmed at the thought of being on camera, let alone having to buy expensive equipment. I hope I can help you pursue your dream and assure you that you really do not need crazy amounts of equipment and starting small is better than stumbling over every hurdle which I feel was something I have battled with! Some of the questions I answer in this video include:
What equipment do I need?
What equipment do you use?
How to face your fears
How to make money on YouTube (it's tough!)
EDITING YOUR YOUTUBE CLIPS
Whenever I need editing help, I head over to Peter McKinnon's channel - he is honestly so talented that he makes editing seem fun! Some of his favourite videos of mine include:
UNDERSTANDING HOW PEOPLE MAKE MONEY ON YOUTUBE:
I absolutely love Shelby Church's content - she explains YouTube so clearly that its really easy to understand how Adsense works, and her other income streams which she uses to support herself:
My third video is all about editing on YouTube like a YouTuber! I use iMovie so have demonstrated many of the tips and tricks in iMovie but I tried to make them as broadly relevant as possible.
So if you looking for inspiration to make your YouTube videos just that little bit more exciting, this is well worth a watch - it includes some simple hacks from my personal favourite YouTubers.
